D’origine moldave, Mihai Trestian est l’héritier des écoles classiques et populaires dans les conservatoires de Chisineau, Bucarest et Budapest. Il débute son parcours en tant que concertiste et musicien traditionnel. Il obtient le premier prix au concours National de Stepan Neaga et international Barbu Lautare. Il a été membre de l’orchestre Tele Radio Chisinau Folclor.
En Roumanie, il a participé à l’ensemble Baladele Deltei et Floricica la Munte. Suite à une résidence et création à l’abbaye de Royaumont, il intègre les tournées Chants du monde de Jean-Marc Padovani en 2000-2001.
En 2002 il rencontre la formation Translave à l’occasion de la création de l’album Marinarul. Puis il intègre le Jerez Le Cam ensemble en 2007 pour la création de Nubes y tangos et y poursuit les collobarations. En parallèle il développe sa carrière dans le jazz, la musique classique et contemporaine, avec entre autre, Eric Marchand, Yom, Daniel Givone, Ars Nova Ensemble, Ensemble Intercontemporain de Paris, Philarmonique de Nantes, … Il a aussi créé son quintette, Çioncan, avec des compositions personnelles.
Originario de Moldavia, Mihai Tresrian es heredero de las mas grandes escuelas de música clásica y popular de Europa en Chisinau, Bucarest y Budapest.Debuta su carrera como concertista y músico tradicional y obtiene el primer premio en el concurso nacional Stepan Neaga en Rumania. Integro la orquesta folklórica de la radio y televisión de Chisinau. Parte en una gira à Francia con el músico Jean-Marc Padovani, participando desde 2002 las formaciones Translave y el Jerez Le Cam ensemble. Actualmente crea su quinteto dedicado a la fusión del jazz con la música cíngara y folklórica del este de Europa con composiciones propias.
Originally from Moldova, Mihai Trestian is the classical and folkloric music’s heir of Chisinau, Bucharest and Budapest conservatories. He started his career as a concert performer and traditional musician. He won the First Prize at the Stepan Neaga National competition as well as at the Barbu Lautare International competition.
He is a member of the Tele Radio Chisinau Folclor orchestra. In Romania, he plays with the Baladele Deltei and Florocica la Munta band. After living and creating at the Royaumont Abbey, he took part in the Songs from the world tours initiated by Jean-Marc Padovani, in 2000-2001. He met with the band Translave in 2002, during the making of the album Marinarul. He joined the Jerez Le Cam Quartet in 2007, for the development of Nubes y tangos and took part in all the band’s work from then on. As for now, he works on his own quintet with personal arrangements.
